About Rich Hurst
Rich is an Education Development Advisor with responsibility for global sustainability education alongside pupil voice and cultural education. Employed by Education Durham within Durham County Council Children and Young People’s Services, his role is varied; helping to support the OASES Board of Trustees with development opportunities he acts as a link between the two organisations ensuring that the services offered to schools are high quality, relevant and appropriate.
Rich has worked in County Durham for nearly 30 years and in that time has worked on local, regional, national and international initiatives supporting schools in the broad sustainability agenda. He was a founding board member of the National Sustainable Schools Alliance and is on the National Advisory Group for the Let’s Go Zero Programme. Locally he is a member of the County Durham Cultural Education Partnership. Part of his role involves supporting the Durham Youth Council. He is passionate about helping children and young people understand their power to be active citizens to make a difference in the world.

A qualified Geography teacher with a specialism in outdoor learning and sustainability education.
HANNAH TURNER
Qualified teacher with Level 3 Forest School qualification who leads on our School trip provision as well as outdoor and sustainability learning.
JOSH RADNER
Qualified teacher with a passion for using the outdoors for teaching science. Specialisms including gardening, outdoor learning and sustainability.
HANNAH FISHBURN
Qualified teacher with specialisms in sustainability education, teacher training and active, outdoor learning.

Environmental education practitioner with a background in ecology and outdoor learning. Level 3 Forest School and Beach School qualified.
