About Joanne Appleby
Joanne works within the OASES team as the Chief Executive Officer and has been with the organisation since 2001. She is qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Geography and a MSc Environmental and Resources Assessment alongside being a qualified Forest School Leader, Learning Through Landscapes accredited trainer, Forest Bathing Leader and BWY Yoga Teacher.
Joanne has a wealth of experience in all aspects of project development and management including fundraising and bid writing.
Having delivered outdoor and sustainability education for over twenty five years Joanne is passionate about the need for this type of learning, having seen the impact it can have on a child’s development, learning and self-esteem. Joanne completely believes in OASES’ vision to create a more sustainable world where all children can thrive and steers the organisation accordingly.

Amy has over 15 years’ experience of working in the food sector, from agriculture and school food growing, to catering, food retail and surplus food redistribution.

A qualified Geography Teacher with specialisms in ecology, environmental science and sustainability education.
EMMA HAWTHORNE
An outdoor learning practitioner with specialisms in geography, forest schools and sustainability education.
RACHEL MOORE
A qualified Geography teacher with a specialism in outdoor learning and sustainability education.
HANNAH TURNER
Qualified teacher with Level 3 Forest School qualification who leads on our School trip provision as well as outdoor and sustainability learning.
JOSH RADNER
Qualified teacher with a passion for using the outdoors for teaching science. Specialisms including gardening, outdoor learning and sustainability.
HANNAH FISHBURN
Qualified teacher with specialisms in sustainability education, teacher training and active, outdoor learning.
HELEN CHEETHAM
Environmental education practitioner with a background in ecology and outdoor learning. Level 3 Forest School and Beach School qualified.
SARA CAINES
Qualified teacher who leads our outdoor learning courses, including Forest School, Forest Bathing and Active Learning.
