“I want to be a light artist because I want to change the world” – Pupil
6 schools from across County Durham were lucky enough to receive a workshop and assembly from OASES, introducing Durham Lumiere, learning about renewable energy and solar power and creating their very own solar diamond, which were included as part of Mick Stephenson’s ‘Diamond Garden installation.
The solar powered diamonds captured the imagination of children involved, who learned all about solar panels and solar cars as part of the project and they were able to go along to the Lumiere Festival to see the art installation in real life, along with all of the other installations.
