Child building a den at Thornhill Primary School

Child building a den at Thornhill Primary SchoolDuring the 21-22 school year, Thornhill Primary asked OASES to deliver a nature based afterschool club. Hannah worked with several year groups; each group was able to take part in the club for 5-6 weeks. Children took part in a range of fun and engaging nature based activities all within their own school grounds. Each week was adapted to link in with the changing seasons. Activities included bug hunting, scavenger hunts, natural crafts, obstacle courses and nature games. They also had the opportunity to experience forest school activities including den building and whittling. Children had lots of fun and were delighted to have the opportunity to learn new skills and gain an appreciation for nature.

“There was a good range of activities for the children – both indoors and outdoors, and it was managed and delivered very well. Children enjoyed the club and were able to take part in new skills and activities.”
