Beach Schools

St Godric’s school, Thornley, asked OASES to deliver a bespoke half day beach session on Durham’s coastline as part of their Geography curriculum. Year 3 and 4 students explored the topic of coastal erosion and land formations at Crimdon Beach with interactive activities to bring their classroom learning outdoors. OASES’s beach schools specialists adapt sessions to meet the needs of the learners abilities,  such as the case of a child within this class having not visited a coast before, therefore requiring specific attention during activities. The children left the beach with a clearer understanding of their Geography topic.

“We had a great time learning outdoors with Grace from OASES. We particularly enjoyed using OASES’ binoculars, playing games and making detailed field sketches.” I didn’t get an exact quote but this was the feedback from the teacher at the end of the session 🙂
