Wind Warriors

Wind Warriors is a project that targets STEM intervention in primary schools within West Durham and Sedgefield. The project enabled upper KS2 classes to appreciate how sustainable energy research and innovation is helping humans to tackle the issue of climate change. The sessions addressed key themes such as understanding climate change science, real world impacts of climate change, alternative energy and how we generate it, with specific reference to wind power, green skill development and awareness of Green Jobs. 

It used our specialised Supergrid technology (see more here) to allow students to take on the role  of Wind Turbine Technicians. Pupils experimented to create the most energy efficient turbines and compete as countries to generate the most electricity.
