National Education Nature Park

In 2024 and 2025, dozens of schools in the Northeast received funding from the UK Department for Education though the National Education Nature Park scheme, administered by the Royal Horticultural Society. The twin goals of this program were to enhance schoolyard biodiversity and to support outdoor learning and nature-connectedness in schoolchildren and youth.

OASES has supported many of these schools (17 as of November 2025), primarily through “Grey to Green” school garden construction projects engaging pupils in the construction and planting of bespoke raised bed perennial gardens on tarmac and concrete surfaces adjacent to schools.
