In 2026, Public Health Darlington commissioned OASES to coordinate Darlington’s Food Partnership in order to bring together people from across the food system.
OASES is working alongside Darlington Borough Council to establish a cross-sector food partnership, connecting people from a range of sectors including environmental organisations, the education sector, the voluntary and community sector, health and social care as well as community groups, farmers, and local-food businesses. In fact, everyone who wants to be a part of making food better for us and our planet.
The coordinator will support the partnership to co-create an action plan for healthy and sustainable food in Darlington – to collectively seek to transform the food system into one that supports wellness and enhances our ecosystems – from tackling food insecurity, engaging citizens in the good food movement, reducing food waste to supporting vibrant local food economies, supporting sustainable procurement and encouraging caterers to provide healthier choices.
