Tree Planting- Tree ID

Cassop Primary school were selected to take part in a tree planting project, Trees For Children. Working with Grace from OASES, every child in the school planted a tree or tree seed. Children learnt identification techniques, types of seed dispersal, the importance of trees for native wildlife, and how trees help in the battle against Climate Change. OASES specialists provide consultation and support for schools wishing to plant trees or grow/maintain willow structures in their school grounds.

“Thank you for the work you have done with the children. They had a wonderful time planting the trees for our community and identifying trees on our school grounds. It was lovely for the children to plant seeds from trees that match the name of their class”. Teacher, Cassop Primary.
“The timing of the seed planting workshop aligned with our assembly about the loss of the tree in Sycamore Gap. Having Grace come into our school to speak during the assembly and work with the children brought hope and joy to a sad time.” Head teacher, Cassop Primary.
