Thank you for a brilliant day at Hamsterley Forest. We all had a wonderful time and it was so well organised, especially as we had the two classes with us - there was no problem for organising timings for lunch / toilet trips etc and it was stress-free and easy for us teachers! All the activities were great fun, well explained and resourced and the children loved them!

The session was delivered very enthusiastically and the session was catered to all types of learning styles. The resources were excellent and the pupils really enjoyed using them.

It was exciting, we laughed, we felt very happy and we shared ideas and skills with our friends. We built a house. We toasted marshmallows. It was the first time I had done this.

I would love to go back; it was the best day of this year. I would highly recommend going.

You and your team have such clear skills, knowledge and experience in outdoor learning and supporting young people to engage with nature. The morning felt structured and organised, but with flexibility to go with the flow and adapt to what the young people were enjoying (like staying down by the river skimming stones and looking for sea glass). The sensory & mindfulness activities were fantastic, and so expertly led to have a group of 11-13 year-olds so focused and engaged – really impressive and wonderful.

My class spent an afternoon with [the OASES Project Officer] looking at the climate crisis and learning about renewable sources of energy. They explored wind and solar power. The session was managed really efficiently and delivered excellently to a large class of Year 6 pupils. We are hoping to link the session to our Geography and RE lessons and create a campaign around the school, encouraging energy saving methods.

The project was delivered very well. All of the children were engaged and involved.... Both staff and children will be taking more care to turn lights off.

Supergrid STEM Session A quick note to say thank you for today. I caught up with a couple of kids just after school today and they absolutely loved it.

I was very pleased with the way OASES organised and delivered our project, from the initial contact to [the OASES Project Officer] coming to our school to lead the sessions. The explanations and resources [the OASES Project Officer] used were age appropriate for our KS1 children and he explained the main points of climate emergency and renewable energy very well. Our children really looked forward to his visits and were engaged with the resources he brought. I particularly noticed how our children on the SEN register responded to the activities and were able to develop their understanding and learning. I also learnt a great deal about how to teach this subject to our children and will certainly be incorporating ideas into our Geography teaching.

Very well planned and organised. Resources helped the children to understand the different types of ways electricity is generated. The teaching was delivered clearly with images, resources and engaging discussion to develop their understanding further. Children were encouraged to think about the impact of their energy use and how they could make improvements.
