To gain the award, each school completes 10 climate saving actions covering the 7 themes: Building, Energy, Food, Grounds, Water, Transport and Consumption.

“As part of this project, we reduced our food waste by 24%, with our Y6 pupils reducing their plate waste by 31%. Our success in the programme, which included elements of Action 3, ensured we won the ‘Sow it, Grow it, Share it’ award at the end of year celebration event.”

2056 students have been involved across the project with teachers and governors from each school also receiving training on climate literacy.

“Through these efforts, our young eco-champions are proving that small actions can lead to big changes. Their enthusiasm and leadership are a powerful reminder that sustainability starts with us.”
