Local History Study

Discover the remarkable history of Ushaw and learn why it has been such a significant place in the local area since 1808.

Start the day by being a detective and hunting for historical clues in the grounds. Can you use these clues to determine Ushaw’s historical past? In the afternoon find out if you were correct when you learn about the history of Ushaw, exploring the different buildings and discovering why it was such an important place in County Durham. How does the truth compare to what you imagined during the morning session?

‘OASES is a Registered Charity (no. 1041301). During the course of this contract’s delivery, we will have a legitimate interest in collecting and storing your personal data within the OASES office and on our cloud-based IT system. Upon the project’s cessation will only hold onto your data if there is a legal obligation to do so. We will not give your data to anyone other than Forestry England. If you do not feel that we have handled your data appropriately you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office.’ A full refund will be given for cancellations made up to a month of the start date (minus an admin fee). Cancellations made up to 7 days before will receive a 50% refund. Within 7 days of the start date the fee is non-refundable.
